Collection Procedures for UroVysion 

  1. Add up to 20cc of URINE to the green top Cytolyte tube if available.  If not, Add up to 20cc of urine + 20 cc of Cytolyte to a container.
  2. Add 35 - 40cc of URINE to the ThinPrep Urocyte collection cup (yellow label) for UroVysion testing *.
  3. Cap.  Invert.  Store both in the refrigerator (4º C) until ready for transport to Pathology Associates of Tyler.  Transport within 24 hrs.

* Specimen is sent for UroVysion testing if either specifically requested by clinician or reflexed if cytology diagnosis warrants further testing.
